Leila Fecho

Tuesday – January 13, 2009
Join with Leila for an interactive discussion on how you can improve communications within your organization to garner increased awareness and appreciation for all that you do to improve quality.
Leila Fecho has over 15 years of experience in development, management and marketing communications. She attended the Philip Crosby Institute in Florida back in 1990 where she was first introduced to quality systems improvement. Leila has a profound understanding of customer service and quality assurance (ISO 9000 and related); She facilitated the Senior Management Quality Improvement Steering Committee for ISO 9000 registrar TUV Rheinland of North America, Inc. (located in Newtown, CT.) and launched a series of seminars in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Her position grew as the company did, and she created the first marketing position in the Americas, responsible for developing and implementing multi-national marketing plans. She also helped them prepare for their first RAB accreditation audit.
Leila left her employment to return to UConn in Storrs, Connecticut to complete her MBA in Strategic Planning and Marketing. After graduation, she started Above & Beyond Communications LLC to help companies develop and implement integrated business and marketing plans to maximize their growth potential. Clients range from manufacturers to municipalities, as well as institutions and not-for-profit agencies. Leila was honored with The Hartford Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Award in 2003 and 2005, and received the Woman of Achievement Award in 2003. She is the Director of Public Policy and Past President of the National Association of Women Business Owners (CT Chapter). Leila is also active on the Collegiate Relations Committee and Past President of the American Marketing Association (CT Chapter). She has taught as an adjunct professor of marketing at the University of Connecticut and Post University.
